Notice of Regular Communication

May 10th – 7:00 PM

The Lodge will open at 7:00 PM for the transaction of such business as shall regularly come before it, and the conferral of the Fellow Craft degree on eligible candidates.

Those wishing to gather for dinner are encouraged to arrive by 5:30 pm in order to assure time for a pleasant meal. We will meet downstairs at Leo’s Ristorante. Ordering is no-host, off the menu. Friends and family are encouraged to join us.

There is considerable interest in having dinners in our social hall on the second floor in the future. Bro. Jim Wilson is working on this, and the W. Master is still interested in hearing from others who are interested in helping promote this.

Greetings Brethren,

Last month was another busy month for the brothers of St. Alban’s, as we continued to travel around Rhode Island. The month started with a visit to Logia Libertad, for their DDGM visitation. Then we traveled to Harmony Lodge No. 9 for the MWGM’s visitation to the Central district. We also had the pleasure of visiting Roger Williams Lodge No. 32 for the MWGMs visitation to his mother lodge. It’s been a real treat to visit these other lodges within the state.

For our April communication, we hosted the Right Worshipful District Deputy Grand Master, Bro. Eric E. Grist and Bro. John W. Kent, Worshipful Grand Master of Ceremonies on their official visit to St. Alban’s No. 6. The evening kicked off with the affiliation of Bro. Renato Ramos, who has already joined the brothers for some of our visits to other lodges around Rhode Island. The program about the history of the United States Secret Service was very informative and enjoyable and generated many questions. Thankfully, the speakers stayed for the collation to continue to answer questions. It was a wonderful evening.

We are looking forward to continuing our travels around Rhode Island. The following visits are on my calendar:

  • Tues, 02 May, DDGM visitation to St. Paul’s No. 14 (East Bay district) in Middletown.

  • Thurs, 04 May, DDGM visitation to Morning Star No. 13 (Northern district) in Woonsocket.

  • Mon, 08 May, Semi-public annual communication at Redwood No. 35 (Metro district) in East Providence.

On Thurs, 25 May, I will be traveling to Unity Lodge No. 9, in Valatie, NY, about 2.5 hours from Bristol. This visit will be to return a past master’s jewel that had been my great-great-grandfather’s, and handed down through the family. He was Master in 1909-1910, and it is time for the jewel to go back home. If you are interested in accompanying me, just let me know. Would love to have brothers join me on the trip.

A few reminders:

  1. Our June communication will be a joint communication with Hope No. 25, in Wakefield, RI. Brothers, this is a perfect time for you to cross the bridges and get your passports stamped.

  2. The Poker Table raffle is underway. Please see any St. Alban’s brother for tickets, or visit our webpage ( and click on [Poker Table Raffle] for more info and to purchase tickets. The drawing will be at our June communication.

From the Secretary’s Desk

Assistance is needed for the functions of the Secretary. W∴ Assistant Secretary Daigle is helping with the membership functions, but W∴ Secretary Pray needs assistance with those remaining. Please contact W∴ Master Hopkins, W∴ Secretary Pray, or W∴ Bill Stephens for more information.

Notices of membership fees were mailed in January. The fee for 2023 is $150.00 and is now past due. Thank you to those who have made their payment. If you have not yet done so, please pay your share of the expenses of the lodge now. If you have an issue with paying your dues, please let either the Secretary or the Master know so we can make the necessary arrangements. We are happy to make any needed arrangements, but we must know when help is needed. Your lodge depends on you, and we are here to help anyone needing some assistance.

Upon hearing of the illness or passing of a member or a Special Lady, please contact the Master or Secretary as soon as possible. Also please advise us if you know of someone in need of assistance or even just a ride to the lodge. Do not let the stairs be an obstacle; remember that we now have a stair lift.

Special Charity Fund Committee

The committee is looking for a new member to replace W∴ Bro. Stephens who is retiring. As the fund has investments, having an interest in this would be beneficial. The purpose of the fund is to help members and families when they need some assistance. All assistance is kept strictly confidential. Please let any member of the committee (W∴ Bros. DaSilva, Pray, or Stephens) know of your interest in serving in this capacity. It is not necessary to be a Past Master.
