Master's Message

Greetings Brethren,

Our November Stated Communication is nearly upon us, and I am excited to share a little about what we have planned for the evening.

If all goes well, we will be welcoming Brother Mark Stought from the Grand Jurisdiction of Massachusetts to give a presentation on Freemasonry in Japan. This will be an exciting opportunity to learn about the history of Freemasonry and how the Craft operates on the other side of the world.

I have known Brother Mark for some time. He has been involved in many aspects of Freemasonry throughout Massachusetts, and more recently, I came to know him through an appendant organization, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

For those unfamiliar with the Tall Cedars, we are Master Masons in good standing who enjoy "Fun, Frolic & Fellowship." We meet in groups called Forests, which are overseen by the Supreme Grand Forest. Members are easily recognized by their distinctive green hats embroidered with a cedar tree.

Locally, I am a member of Massasoit Forest No. 91, which currently meets at Ezekiel Bates Lodge in Attleboro.

Our national charitable cause is supporting those affected by Muscular Dystrophy (MD) through fundraising and special events. I am fortunate not to personally know anyone affected by MD, but I hope to become more knowledgeable about neuromuscular diseases and the work being done to support those living with them.

I encourage my fellow Tall Cedars to join us at St. Alban's Lodge on Wednesday, November 11, to learn about Freemasonry in another culture and to become better acquainted with another appendant body of the Craft.

I would also be remiss if I did not acknowledge that November 11 is Veterans Day.

Many of our Brothers will have the day off, and I hope you will take a moment to reflect on your own service to our great country or the service of family members and friends who have worn the uniform.

In my immediate family, my father was the only one to serve in the Armed Forces. In my extended family, my Uncle Ray served in the United States Navy, and my cousin Justin served in Afghanistan approximately 25 years ago.

I plan to bring a photograph of my father and share a little about his service. I invite each of you attending to bring a photograph of a loved one who served so that we may share their stories and remembrances with our Brothers.

Thank you again, my Brothers, for allowing me the honor and privilege of serving as your Worshipful Master for the ensuing year.

Yours in the Craft,

Andrew Daigle
Worshipful Master

From the Secretary's Desk

Greetings Brothers,

As November arrives and the holidays draw near, it's a good time to reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for: our families, our friends, and the Brotherhood we share.

The friendships we build through Freemasonry reach far beyond the Lodge walls. As Thanksgiving approaches, I encourage you to spend time with those you love, check in on a Brother you haven't seen in a while, and remember those who may need a little extra kindness this season.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve St. Alban's Lodge and to call each of you my Brother. Wishing you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving and a joyful start to the holiday season.

Fraternally yours,

Danny Cordeiro
Secretary
